2026 Training-the-trainer Programme: Green Maritime Fuel for Sustainable Shipping is co-organised by PMDC, PolyU, Maritime Just Transition Task Force (MJTTF) and Transport and Logistics Bureau (TLB).

Seminar: Unlocking Alternative Marine Fuels at Sea: Ambitious Pathways, Operational Realities was held on 8 Dec 2025. Dr. WANG Jing has been invited as the guest speaker.

Seminar: Geopolitical Risks and their impact on Shipping Trade Flows was held on 24 Nov 2025. Dr. Punit Oza, Founder & Director of Maritime NXT, has been invited as the guest speaker. 

The government delivered “The Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address” on 16 Oct 2024. There are five maritime policies mentioned in the Policy Address and our centre assists in three of them, especially the smart port management system (eSPP), which our centre (PMDC) worked with Tsinghua University to develop for Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM) and Transport and Logistics Bureau, is mentioned in paragraph 54 in Policy Address. 

PMDC participated in LSCM Logistics Summit 2024 on 10 Oct 2024. The theme this year is smart city technology and digital economy.

The emerging cutting-edge technologies and innovations in recent years have been propelling the smart city development, as well as the evolution of digital economy. The COVID-19 pandemic had further accelerated digital economic growth as remote work, online shopping, and telehealth services have become essential to our daily life.

Our centre provides extensive data services and solutions in governance and management.

Please be informed that the PolyU Maritime Library and Research & Development Centre (PMLC) will be renamed to ‘PolyU Maritime Data and Sustainable Development Centre (PMDC)’ staring from 1 Mar 2024.
