The Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address

The government delivered “The Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address” on 16 Oct 2024. There are five maritime policies mentioned in the Policy Address and our centre assists in three of them, especially the smart port management system (eSPP), which our centre (PMDC) worked with Tsinghua University to develop for Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM) and Transport and Logistics Bureau, is mentioned in paragraph 54 in Policy Address. The first phase of the platform, which is currently on trial, included five papers and two patent of our centre.


Prof. YANG Dong, Director of PMDC, was invited to The Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address consultation session this summer. Our suggestions on development of green maritime centre and smart port are included in the Policy Address based on our research for government in the recent years. Also, the government deeply supported in training professions for our industry. As the only institutions related with maritime industry, half of our master’s students receive the scholarship offered by government or entrepreneurship.
